Dr. Mark Hyman created a 33-minute video covering "4 Ways to Buy Safe, Effective and Reliable Supplements." All vitamins are not created equal, and he admits finding the right supplements isn't easy. Due to the lack of adequate enforcement in government regulations, the dizzying number of products on the market and the large variations of quality confuse even educated doctors. Watch this to learn why vitamins are important, and how to select the right ones to support your healthy objectives in The Daniel Plan.

what vitamin should I be giving my 4 year old son?

Good basic info. that everyone should follow. I for one was surprised to learn I was Vit. D deficient...as I was already taking the supplement and live in Sunny Calif. But what about post menopausal women. Surely, we need more than what was mentioned.

How can you tell if the supplements are actually working? The temptation is to quit buying them because they're expensive, especially if you can't tell if they're helping or not. I guess you just take it on faith?

Silvia Villasenor asked "what vitamin can I give my 4 year old?Just a week ago, I scanned the labels of four of the leading vitamin products for children. It is shocking to see artificial colors, flavors and sugar still allowed and to see many of the vitamins on the labels are not nutrients at all, but are "synthetic vitamins",(chemicals )which bring to a child, a combination of stimulants that contribute to hyperactivity. Make certain your choice is food supplements derived from, preferably organically grown plants,

For pregnant/nursing best to check first with your Obstetrician, make sure what you get follows Dr.Hymen's guidelines on nutritional supplements. For kids vitamin-follow same guidelines.I have tried those children vitamin products since my son was small which for one reason after the other he always complaint of discomfort. He is now 19 and lately first time he likes this fruit extract of vitamins(w/c providesvitamins, minerals, essential fats
