Whether you're flirting with the idea of being on The Daniel Plan, slowly dipping your toes in, or jumping in with both feet, during the first week, we encourage you to "know your numbers" and record your current status. As Dr. Daniel Amen said Saturday at the kick-off seminar, you can't determine how to get somewhere if you don't know where you are starting!

Click "Get Started," and create your "Health Profile" where you will enter in a variety of information about your current condition. The site will save your statistics so you can compare your progress down the road. All the information is private, voluntary, and optional.

To help you get started on this journey, get your height, weight, blood pressure, measurements, and "before" pictures taken on your church campus this weekend. Then, you can add this information to your profile. We also recommend knowing your Body Mass Index (BMI), completing the Medical Symptom/Toxicity Questionnaire (MSQ), and if possible, getting a "full blood panel."

Coming soon…watch an in-depth video explanation from Dr. Mark Hyman regarding "Knowing Your Numbers." In addition, the doctors will be providing optional quizzes to help gauge your starting point.

And, if you haven't already, join or start a small group! We're better together!

Coming Soon! Watch www.danielplan.com in the next few days for an in-depth discussion with Dr. Mark Hyman regarding "Knowing your numbers;" learn how to be "Supermarket Savvy" and what foods to buy and to avoid; and we will be posting segments from Saturday's kick-off Health & Fitness Seminar for your viewing pleasure!

Putting It Into Practice

Next Steps

If you've completed your profile, recorded your measurements, taken the quizzes and joined or started a small group, then you're doing great! More exciting information, videos and training are on the way! In the meantime, the doctors suggest to begin adjusting your daily diet with natural foods and include 30 minutes of exercise per day. Also, avoid sodas and high-sugar juices and instead enjoy unsweetened--or lightly sweetened--green tea or ice cold water!

SO excited to get started with the recipes and applying the food lists to my grocery shopping! There ARE packaged foods out there with recognizable/pronounceable (is that a word?) ingredients (recommended 5 or less, per Dr. Hyman)--go figure! =)

Advice for those who cannot log in - ask for help. A lovely lady sorted out my login problems and I registered successfully. As for the 30 min exercise - don't overdo it. You'll get sore muscles and regret the long session. Start small and then increase duration after a week.

As I prayed and asked God for direction this morning, I found the Daniel Plan online. I'm home full time since November 2010 w/Rheumatoid Arthritis. The treatments haven't worked and I've become more unhealthy than ever. I hope to change this with this plan and bible study.

I AM LOOKING FOR EASY MEAL PLANS.I HAVE A FAMILY OF SIX AND A VERY BUSY LIFE.CAN YOU HELP?

I think one of the biggest challenges is how to delay the "mid-afternoon hunger pangs". i suggest some alternatives:- fruit yogurt e.g. berry yogurt (simply plain yogurt or low-fat yogurt blueberries strawberries) - fruit salad - with or without yogurt/ custard- carrot and celery sticks dipped into hummus (i'm not sure if people do this in America but i saw Australians doing it)- rice crackers topped with a slice of tomato or some ricotta cheese(Ricotta and cottage cheeses are much lower in fat compared to cheddar cheese)- a slice of wholemeal or wholegrain bread (brown bread) with ricotta cheese/ cottage cheese/ avocado spread. Busy people could prepare these in advance and keep them in the fridge. Or they could have banana yogurt - which is simple and does not need any cooking. For the herb garden frittata recipe - could we substitute olive oil for ghee/ coconut oil?Good Luck and God Bless

I eat very little meat or fish and prefer a more vegan menu. Can you please post more menus and recipes for this group?

I am looking to lose 15 pounds of the bad stuff and add 20 pounds of muscle. Eating right, aerobics and weightlifting. I am sure I can do it.

We are so excited about getting into this plan. We can both see a difference and have both lost a few pounds already. The exercise is going to be the roughest part, finding the time is not always easy.

Just started today. I hope there are still people out there beginning this plan.

I am excited to start off the New Year with a new direction for my overall health and fitness for life. Amazingly I am pretty healthy because I have always been active, I love playing sports, dancing, exercising, and swimming, so I am just excited to incorporate more whole healthy foods and definitely get control of portion sized and sugar intake. The only issue I truly have is stored fat. It has got to go! Looking forward to 2013!
